Here are some great iPhone apps that can help you manage your ADHD life. I’m Mike Testa, The ADD Advisor, and these are the same apps I use to manage my ADHD life.
Spending just 10 minutes a day with these apps can go a long way toward reducing the chaos in your life.
Smartphones can be both good and bad for adults with ADD. On the plus side, your iPhone offers a lot of great organizational tools.
With the right apps, it’s easy to automate mundane tasks, and we usually take our phones everywhere we go, so it’s always handy.
Unfortunately, our phones are also a source of seemingly endless distractions, and we can easily become overwhelmed trying to find the best apps for our needs.
Here are four great apps I use on a daily basis to help me stay on top of my day:
- aTimeLogger 2
- Way of Life
- Paperless
- Calendars 5.
Let’s explore each of these apps in a little more detail.
aTimeLogger 2 makes it easy to see how you spend your time.
You can easily create categories that are relevant to your life and then just tap on one to start recording your time. A quick tap of the history icon makes it easy to see how you’ve spent your time.
Activity view makes it easy to see how much time you spent on each of your established categories.
Daily view makes it easy to see where your time was spent throughout the day, and pie charts make it easy to see where you’re spending most of your time. You can review daily weekly and monthly data.
Way of Life is a powerful and supremely simple goal tracking app.
Simply tap the box and then select either yes or no to indicate whether you’ve made progress toward your goal for the day. If you hadn’t planned on working on a goal that day, just select “skip.”
Each week you can check your progress at a glance. The bar at the top summarizes your progress in just a single line, and the trend icon allows you to see how you been doing over longer time periods.
Pie charts and bar charts make it easy to see how well you’re doing over a variety of time periods, on either on a percentage basis or by looking at the raw numbers.
Paperless makes it easy to keep track of all your lists in one location.
You can easily create and edit multiple lists, and it’s easy to turn any list into a reusable checklist. The buttons at the bottom make it easy to sort, duplicate, and share your list.
Calendars 5 is a full-featured, yet simple calendar app that can be great for ADDers.
You can organize tasks and to-dos right from inside the calendar app, and the app offers a variety of useful views to stay on top of your day.
The weekly view makes it easy to visualize your calendar, and the list view makes it easy to see everything in a single chronological list.
Unlike many apps that require you to scroll through dates and times when creating an event, Calendars 5 uses direct entry buttons to make the process less frustrating.
With the right apps, your iPhone can be a great organizational tool for managing your ADHD life.
